  •
AUDRINA PATRIDGE - "We were in Vegas two years ago when Britney Spears performed and I was so excited to see her – I thought she did really good. I also remember the fight that broke out between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. [in 2007] We were sitting right there and were like, 'Oh my gosh, what do we do?!' I will always remember that."
  •
COBRA STARSHIP When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way ... and you also make "Good Girls Go Bad"! The members of Cobra Starship – who are up for best pop video – are seeing green at their VMA shoot.
  •
KATY PERRY Hoisting a Moonman, the fruit-bearing singer is ready to belt it out from a rooftop garden like the Sharks' queen bee, Anita. Perry's video, "Hot N Cold," is up for best female video at the MTV Video Music Awards, which airs live Sept. 13.
  •
KELLY CLARKSON "Performing 'Since You've Been Gone" in the rain for the [2005] VMAs was one of my favorite moments on television! I hate being all dressed up, so the fact that I was soaking wet with mascara smeared all over my face was definitely the highlight of my evening!"
  •
KRISTIN CAVALLARI - "The first VMAs I went to [were in 2005,] the year Laguna Beach premiered. [They] was the most memorable because no one knew who we were yet. I never thought I would actually be at the VMAs. I remember waiting for our limo outside the hotel and next to us was Gwen Stefani and I was so mesmerized by her."
  •
MYA "The most memorable VMA moment for me was when 'NSync performed behind flat computerized screens [in 2000]. I thought the production was original at the time – then the icing on the cake was when Michael Jackson joined them. The best!"
  •
NE-YO The presenter and best male video nominee (for "Miss Independent") holds out the coveted Moonman award – a nod to the channel's first logo, which showed the 1969 moon landing.
  •
NELLY FURTADO - "My first time at the VMAs, I performed "Get Ur Freak On" with Missy Elliot in '01. She had built this amazing structure that looked like her head that was the size of a large air balloon. My 'moment' was when I came out of the slide that was her 'tongue.' I had to slide down at the exact right second to get to my part of the song in time – on live TV, of course."
  •
PETE WENTZ - "I think the VMAs were one of the first places Fall Out Boy ever "won" anything. Art is not really a competition, but it means a lot when your fans vote for you. The VMAs have always been legendary in my head from when Britney [performed] with a snake to Guns N Roses. "
  •
PINK "My favorite VMA moment is jumping out of a window last year when I performed 'So What!'"
  •
HEIDI MONTAG - "My favorite VMA moment of all time actually happened last year. Spencer and I were standing in the backstage lot at Paramount with Pete Wentz. All of a sudden, Rihanna came up to me, hugged me and told me I looked so beautiful. I couldn’t even believe she knew who I was, let alone acted like we were BFF. It was amazing. I'm her biggest fan!"
